I am beyond excited and grateful to announce that Wunderite has been selected as a finalist competitor in the Rice 2018 Business Plan Competition. Forty-two teams were selected and announced today from over 700 applicants. Rice brands their competition as the “World’s Richest and Largest Student Startup Competition,” and their numbers back that up: In its 18 years, over 200 teams have competed that have gone on to raise over $6 billion in investments. This year’s competition has somewhere between $1.5 – $1.9 million in investment and cash prizes.
We were especially stunned as Dean Peter Rodriguez (of the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Rice University) made the presentation: we were the first team announced! “I’m not sure if I’m pronouncing this properly, Wunderite, from Boston College”. (Note: you nailed the pronunciation!). Watch the video on facebook.
We will see you April 5-7, 2018 in Houston!
